ClO2 Absorption Towers

ClO2 Absorption Towers

Project Description

Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) absorption towers are critical in ClO2 generation systems, especially in aqueous ClO2 applications like pulp bleaching. Their job is to absorb ClO2 gas into water efficiently and safely, producing a stable ClO2 solution.

Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) absorption towers must be fabricated with special corrosion-resistant barriers due to the highly oxidizing and acidic environment they operate in.

Typical Construction Materials:

  • Tower Shell: FRP, PVC-FRP, or high-alloy stainless steels (e.g., 316L).
  • Internals (packing, distributors): PVC, PP, PTFE, or ceramic, depending on chemical compatibility.
