A Packed Bed Scrubber is a type of wet scrubber designed to efficiently remove acids, soluble gases, chemical fumes, and odours from industrial exhaust streams. Contaminated gas passes through a specially engineered packing media that is continuously wetted with recirculated scrubbing liquid. This liquid absorbs the gas pollutants through physical or chemical interaction. A controlled blowdown system, combined with makeup water addition, ensures removal of absorbed contaminants before they precipitate.
